I am about to book my honeymoon in French Polynesia for September. I have two options: either stay 5 nights in Moorea and 3 in Bora Bora, or opposite 3 nights in Moorea and 5 in Bora Bora. Either way we will be in a garden room at the Intercontinenetal in Moorea, and in a Horizon over water bungalow at the Intercontinental Le Moana. There is only about a $250 difference between the first and second option.
My fiance and I are active and like to swim, snorkel, hike etc., but also like to relax a bit. We are also budget conscious. If I were staying in BB out on a motu I without a doubt would stay there less time because food costs would be so high. However, the Le Moana is on the main island with close access to a market, and two reasonable (for BB) restaurants. There seems to be more activities on Moorea because its a larger island, but Bora Bora’s beauty and water can’t be beat.
I’m torn on which option I should pick? Please give me your opinions as I have to make a decision by Wednesday.
