Hi, i am planning our honeymoon in Phuket for mid-end october, 10 days. Just wondering of any hotel reort recommendations. As there are loads online, a bit overwhelmed, is it best to stay in one hotel or stay 5 days in each do you think? Originally we wanted to go to raratonga/ samoa but the accomodation is really expensive for a basic room and cost of food etc is high, i have been dazzled by these amazing hotels in Phuket.
We want to see local areas and culture, eat nice food, go out in the evening for a meal and maybe a bar for a glass of wine, but we are not big night owls. We have been recommended indigo pearl and katathani resort by our travel agent, but looking online there are loads of nice hotels, we want somewhere swanky 1000 pounds- 1250 pounds for 10 nights.
Where has everyone stayed? any recommendations?

claire123bee: I have stayed at the Indigo Pearl and loved it. It is not your normal Thailand hotel, it is themed after the tin mines which used to be in the area. There was a reef a short walk down the beach which was good for snorkelling. The area is more quite than Patong, Kata or Karon which is what I like.
I can head you towards a good deal at a hotel in another area of Thailand if you are interested? The same company has a good deal to Bali at the moment as well (no flights).

We stayed at Cape Panwa hotel and it was absolutely amazing. I recommend the area as well for a honeymoon as its the opposite side of Phuket from Patong area. The area is secluded but still close enough to the Phuket harbour for day trips to Phi Phi, Krabi and Phang nga bay. The beach on the hotel is a private beach (one of the only private beaches on Phuket) which I absolutely loved because it was pristine and often empty. The hotel runs its own minibus to Phuket town and Patong almost every day incase you wanted to venture out there. Generally really recommend this hotel and its price was great for what we got.

Hi, thanks for all your comments, we are thinking it might be best to split the 10 days into 5/5 or 7/3 unless we find a great offer/ hotel for 10 nighs, we havent booked flights yet so would consider other areas of thailand too. We havent stayed in a 5* hotel before, The first few days my friend will join us as Thailand is on her way back to UK from our wedding in NZ. So some local culture would be nice. I never knew you could get such nice hotels in thailand, i should have gone before now!

We stayed for 5 days in a private villa at Dewa Resort: http://www.dewaphuketresort.com/pool-villa.html
Secluded but we were able to walk to the outdoor local market, markets, a secluded beach, took a taxi to Patong, temples and see elephants. Plenty to do, love Thailand.

If you can, I reccomend driving north 2 hours to khao lak! It’s much less commercialized, and the beach resorts are gorgeous and cheaper!!
