I need some help. I’m starting to look into honeymoon destinations. We really want someplace in the snowy mountains. I imagine like a nice cabin with a fireplace. I thought Colorado or Vermont. I didn’t know if anyone had any ideas or knew of a good place to search. I don’t necessarily want to stay at a resort/hotel, but I don’t know how to find a cabin or a good place to pick. Thanks In Advance 🙂

There are a lot of cabin rentals in the smoky mountains in western NC and eastern TN.

Estes Park CO is my favorite, and Mary’s Lake lodge probably has the kind of style you’re looking for. It’s an adorable small town, and it’s where Rocky Mountain National park. So it’s absolutely freaking beautiful. I am not huge on skiing, so I like that it’s more of a cute mountain town than an upper class ski town. But if you’re into skiing, of course Breck or Vail are beautiful. Telluride is another beautiful town.
Just search the name of the town with “cabin”. Or do Airbnb.

Look into Banff and the Canadian Rockies! We went in March and went dog sledding, took a helicopter ride, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, went up gondolas. You can also snowmobile, ski, go snow tubing, etc. it is absolutely beautiful. We stayed at emerald lake lodge for part of the trip. It isn’t a cabin but the buildings are like fourplex cabins with beautiful views. It’s the epitome of a winter wonderland.

Is second his suggestion. We were there in the summer but stayed at an Airbnb near Banff that was fantastic, so that could be another option if you want to find lodging outside of a resort!

Take a look at Pack Creek Ranch in Moab UT. That’s where we had our wedding reception. The cabins are cozy, some are part stone and it’s up in the La Sal mountains but still just 10 miles from town. When you get sick of snow you can just drop down into the desert (which probably still gets snow, but not as much). There was even a dusting at our own wedding in June, though that was a freak year…. as is this one with no snow at all yet, unfortunately.

Thank you for the suggestions 😊

Can also look at Lake Tahoe, looove it there! North or South Lake.. but I prefer North for seclusion and less touristy stuff. Not hard to get around the lake though, if you wanted to.

Mountain Top Inn in Vermont is amazing. Just outside of killington – it’s a resort, but has private cabins (go for the trail side cottages) and the nice part is they’ll keep bribing you wood for the fire everyday. Plus it has private hot tubs in the snow at the cottages
