If you are going to try for a baby on your honeymoon, please read about the Zika virus and think twice about Mexico and the Caribbean.

I think the Maldives would be difficult on your budget.  Maybe Mauritius would be less expensive? Or Madagascar or Reunion? (although you said no Africa)

Maybe the Canary Islands?

Bermuda is easier to get to from the UK?

Maldives would be difficult, if not impossible, on your budget. Tulum is one of my favorite places to travel but, you intend to get pregnant and the Zika virus is a very real concern right now.

I would look into countries with current Zika virus alerts and go from there. Caribbean-wise.. What about Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas, St. Martin, or St. Barths?

Some other options.. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, south of Spain, or Portugal?

leonatigra:  What about Boracay (Philippines) or Lombok (Indonesia)?

If you are interested in Siem Reap have you thought about a Mekong River cruise or Halong Bay or Nha Trang in Vietnam?

Also Langkawi in Malaysia.

leonatigra:  take a look at Goa. It is so unheard of but lots of culture and breathtaking beaches. Safe, and lots of activities to do. Fiance and I are also stuck on narrowing down a location for our August honeymoon. Good luck Bee!!

Have you done Jordan? That’s where we are going so I’m biased, but there is a ton of culture and ancient civ stuff there, as well as the Red Sea and Dead Sea. The actual trip was not terribly expensive (we’re flying from the U.S.) and we get to stay at five star hotels. It is still a very safe country considering what’s going on in the Middle East and very modern. I’ve heard Dubai and Abu Dhabi are awesome as well, but there are less historical sites there and it’s insanely hot.

leonatigra:  we booked 2weeks before our wedding as suddenly came into funds (generous grandparents) I wanted  Costa Rica but all the for hours hotels (boutique ones) I wanted were just too much. Then found an AMAZING deal on groupon with Halong tours travel – 14 days in Vietnam and Cambodia seeing everything that’s apparently a nut have and its my husbands bucket list place to visit! Spoke to the tour company directly and they gave us same deal with more thrown in when we booked through them and they have great reviews. We are travelling internally by plane, sleeper train (we booked out a 4 persons carriage entirely for us though as it is our honeymoon after all) and upgraded  some of the hotels where they recommended to higher stars and boutiques. It’s an adventurous holiday with loads to do from cookery classes and kayaking and walking and nightlife – we just can’t wait. Not sure if you have been or if this holds IntereSt? We are in UK too. We did Zanzibar island last year and hired a car and travelled the entire island and stayed In various boutique hotels and did the full moon party a are on the famous Rock restaurant (places to eat before you die in top 10 apparently lol)

We leave Thursday. You can do as little or as much as you like and go 7 days or add on days or 14 like us.

im 36 and my husband 29 and we too don’t want to waste any time and this may become our honeymoon baby session too lol.

Hanoi, Halong bay, overnight train, boutique hotels, overnight on cruise boat, cookery class, to chi in morning, Da nang, hoi An, My son, floating market,Ho chi min city, Phonm Pen, Killing fields, Angkor WT, siem ripe, Angkor Thom
