Everyone who attended my bridal shower so practically everyone in his family, his mom’s friends, my friends and coworkers, his mom’s coworkers…Mother-In-Law planned the shower; my mom lives 7000 miles away so noone from my family. I got all sorts of trashy stuff and crazy sex toys too! I have enough wild lingerie now to lead an S&M lifestyle for a few months 😀

2 of my friends bought me lingerie for my bachelorette. Well one bought my something blue panties that are lace and the other bought a whole get up. Then I bought a set on my own because I know what looks best on me!

I’ve gotten lingerie from my friends, my sister, and his sister (all at my bachelorette, which included a lingerie shower brunch).  At first his sister was weirded out by the lingerie thing, so my sis who was planning it said she didn’t have to participate, that she could get me cute jammies or bath stuff, but she ended up buying me lingerie anyway!  Said she found something cute and let go that she originally found it weird.  I will have no problem wearing it.  I feel like when it’s time to put it on, my mind’s PROBABLY not going to be on his sister — and ditto your FMIL!

At one of my friend’s bridal shower, the groom’s grandma gave my friend a leopard, see-through nighty, with matching thong, and cookbooks.  She told my friend that if she wanted to use the cookbooks, then she had wear the lingerie while she cooked.  It was hilarious, but so, so awkward.  Hahaha… love grandmas. 🙂

eh, don’t be embarrassed ladies!  if family members get your lingerie it means they have an open mind, so we should too.  I did not get lingerie from anyone on his side of the family HOWEVER his mom got these funny decorative ceramic balls with letters on them for me.  She got one of each letter for his last name and you put them in a vase or in a box of sand or something as decoration to spell out the word.  At first i didn’t know what they were, they were so odd!  She wrapped them up along with a shallow bowl to display them in and (this is at the shower she threw me) she says (in front of everyone) “It’s your bowl of balls!  A Bowl of Balls!!” LOL!!!!  EVERYONE died laughing, it was so funny!!  SO, the moral of my story is, forget “boundaries”.  There are things that everyone knows about and to keep them behind closed doors is a farse.

My girlfriends are going to throw me a lingerie shower the night of my bachelorette. We’ve done them for everyone so while a tad awkward, not nearly as bad as mom!

I am so nervous about getting lingerie at my shower.  I’m a very shy/private person and would be totally embarassed to open that kind of gift from ANYONE.  The only people I would feel comfortable getting that from would be my close friends at a bachelorette party (but not at the shower). I seriously hope my fiance’s mother doesn’t get me anything like that (that happened to a good friend of mine.. AWKWARD!).  There should be some sort of wedding “good will” where people can donate the lingerie that their Future Mother-In-Law gave them because it will never be worn otherwise lol.  Or a lingerie swap meet. haha
