We’re staying in Playa del Carmen at the Valentin Imperial Maya, which is a 5-star adults only all-inclusive. I booked through Orbitz and for our two week vacation with flights included it was $4500 after taxes (USD). So I imagine if you wanted to go for 5-9 nights that could cut that down significantly and it’s a gorgeous hotel – you would definitely not be settling due to budget!

We were going to go to Couples in Jamaica, but Fiance figured that waiting 8-9 months for a honeymoon wasn’t gonna cut it (he deploys this summer, and didn’t find out WHEN until a week or so ago, and now it’s kind of late to buy tickets et al.)

keep the ideas coming! I’m still looking for an all inclusive for our Honeymoon in September. I keep eyeing up Excellence, Secrets and Couples resorts — just not sure where we want to go, Mexico? Jamaica? Somewhere else?

Look into Secrets Maroma (it’s between Cancun and Playa del Carmen) – after doing lots of research it has some of the best ratings on tripadvisor, has amazing reviews, just won a bunch of awards, and is on one of the top 10 beaches in the world!!

@nbarbieri10:  We are getting married/honeymoonin’ in October too, which = hurricane season.  We are going to Couples resorts (Couples Swept Away) in Negril, Jamaica (located on one of the “sexiest” beaches in the world”)…. 9 days/8 nights, all inclusive, including airfare, AND trip insurance (in case one of those “H” things do happen) for….. $3600!

we are going to the Excellence Riviera Cancun in Mexico – all-inclusive (including TIP, which some other AIs don’t include appartently), adults only, upgraded our room to include a private balcony with jacuzzi, the whole nine yards. for 5 nights and including airfare we only paid $2700!  (we are also October although the wedding is in South Carolina so have bigger hurricane concerns than the honeymoon, haha)

Check out travelzoo.com, allinclusiveoutlet.com, cheapcarribean.com expedia.com, travelocity.com and smarterliving.com

Before you book, check weather and travel reports:

Oct/Nov is Hurricane season in the Carribean.  Check travel watch reports for Mexican destinations because the drug war is out of control.
