My fiance and I are unsure which island to visit. We have it narrowed down to two: Oahu or Maui.
The main problem is that we don’t know much about what each island has to offer.
Although we want to be able to relax on the beach, we like to stay busy and want plenty of things to do.
I am unsure if we will be island hopping, we will be staying in one island only though. So please answer as if you had to pick one or the other.
Thanks!

Maui! There is still plenty to do, but less crazy and populated than Oahu.

Definitely Maui! More romantic but still lots to do and see. Rent a car, drive the Road to Hana and explore the island! We like staying in the Ka’anapali area and spending beach days swimming/snorkeling in Napili Bay – calm waters and giant sea turtles! Have a great time, can’t really go wrong anywhere in Hawaii!!

Maui! Way less people and lots of romantic things to do. If you’re there in December to March there is lots of humback whales around too! Sunset cruise with whales=amazing!

I live in OAHU! love Oahu! But since your coming over for your honeymoon I say go with Maui!
oahu is very city like… But there are places that are amazing here! You jus have to really stay away from the tourist zone.. (Too crowded) MauI is more laid back, LESS BUSY.. More island like.

Definitely Maui! I went on a girls trip there recently (both Maui and Oahu), and we both liked Maui the best.. Gorgeous beaches, a great new outlet for shopping if thats your thing (although coming from Aus, things were so much cheaper it was perhaps more exciting for us than it would be for a US local).. We stayed at Kaanapali, there were a tonne of hotels in the same section of land that were serviced by a little bus that did regular trips between each of the hotels, and the closest shopping centre (where you could then get further transport elsewhere).. Whilst we stayed in one of the more affordable hotels, a friend of mine stayed in the same complex (but a fancy, more expensive hotel!) for her honeymoon.
Highly recommend!
