3k?! That’s about my honeymoon and my wedding budget – combined!

Why not try the Caribbean? We’re getting married in PA and are going to the Bahamas. Or you could try Europe? Flights in Feb will be fairly cheap from NY to a multitude of places in Europe. You could go to the Alps or some place.

@Fung:

How long would you like to stay? What type of vacation are you looking for? Does it have to be Hawaii or are you willing to consider other places?

We just booked our honeymoon for slightly under 3k, we leave in 11 days!

We are staying at Couples Tower Isle in Ochos Rios, Jamaica. There are 4 Couples resorts in Jamaica and they all included different excursions along with the normal all inclusives (food, drinks, resort entertainment). I researched a bunch of the resorts and really wanted to do Couples Swept Away but they were booked for our dates.

We looked at Mexico too when we were trying to stay closer to 2k, there were a lot of all inclusive options there that would be in your budget.

@fung:I’ve been referred to cheapcarribean.com by several people, two of whom are the daughters of my dad’s business partner who HIGHLY recommend using cc.com.  they have a plethora of resorts to choose from all over the carribean: USVI, BVI, mexico, turks & caicos, puerto rico, dominican republic, etc.  I was just checking their website today.  Some resorts are all-inclusive, others aren’t, and others are smaller boutique hotels.  There are even hotels at which you can choose to be in an kids-free area of the resort (or–better yet–an entirely kid-free resort itself!!).  Best part?? The packages INCLUDE AIRFARE!! Seriously.  I was just looking at prices from RDU to Antigua for our honeymoon and prices were 5 nights from $869 per person at an all-inclusive resort.  Check it out for sure!

We just got back from Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana, DR.  It was AMAZING. It’s all-inclusive and you can either get involved in the acivities and the shows they do, or just relax.  We did both. We flew out of Chicago and payed $3125 for 1 week which included airfare, vacation insurance, shuttle service to/from aiport, and a zip-lining excursion. We wound up shelling out an extra $205 at the spa there as well.

Las Vegas is very nice for honeymooning and I am sure you can make it work for well under $3K! We got married there and also had our honeymoon there! It’s very warm as well usually. It was 90 everyday we were there in October.

$3000 goes a long way for trip these days. Fiance and I Drove from BC to Southern California (3 days down, 3 days back), spent 10 nights in SOCal went to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Sea World etc for $3000. That included gas, food, spending, hotels everything for 14 nights total. Your options are endless.
