Niagra Falls?  When are you planning to travel, right after your wedding?  Would you prefer to fly or drive?  What is your nearest large airport?

How long do you have and what kind of things do you like to do?

You could probably do an all inclusive resort in the bahamas for about that.

Darling Husband and I went to the Riu on Paradise Island in the Bahamas for a long weekend and had a fantastic time.

Unfortuatately anything going out of the country would probably eat up most of that budget.  Maybe carribean though?  I got flights last year around 350-400.  I think its a little cheaper in Aug because its nearing hurricane season.  I went July and weather was perfect.  You could probably find a budget weekly vacation home on vrbo, and be willing to maybe cook in or not have very luxurious dining.  It’d be tight but doable depending on the type of hm you want.

check out expedia or other cheap vacation  sites for some all inclusive sell-offs.  i like the all inclusives when i want to stay within a certain budget b/c you don’t have to worry food and drink costs.  you barely need to bring any additional money with you.  when do you want to go? sept/oct become a bit cheaper in the carribean.

Look into Puerto Rico… it’s relatively cheap to get there, especially in the summer since it’s the off season.  Fiance and I went there July 2010 for less than $800 total round trip airfare (flew from NY JFK).

ETA:  Off season means it’ll be super hot… like 90 every day.  But there will be fewer tourists and you might be able to get a good deal on a hotel.
