I know another bride on here has a post like this one but this one is for couples not going on a cruise or didn’t go on a cruise for your honeymoon. Did anyone get perks for telling them it was your honeymoon? We will get a marriage certificate from the wedding we are having in Vegas to prove that we are definetly on our honeymoon.

We were never asked to prove we were on our honeymoon. We stayed at two hotels, both gave us champagne/chocolates. One hotel gave us a free cabana one day and free dessert at one of their restaurants. Trying to think what else… The airline definitely did not care we were on our honeymoon.

We got strawberries and free water at our first hotel (when they normally charge 7 for the same bottle, I was happy), a plate of fruit and caramel with sparkling water at our last hotel, a personalized, signed menu and congratulations cheesecake at one restaurant, the best table at another.
We didn’t need or have a copy of our license (for Maui, Oahu or San Diego).

None. We stayed at a resort that is hugely popular for honeymoons, and all-inclusive. So there wasn’t much they could do. We could have shown our marriage license to get a short couples massage, but it was already in the mail system to get filed with the courts, so we didn’t have it with us.
I expected not to get any perks, but we did pay to upgrade our tickets to first class on our flight to Jamaica. It was epic. Would have been cool if it was free, but we still loved it either way.

@totheislnds: Did the hotel give you that without you asking?

Lots of places want you to show proof that you are on your honeymoon because lots of people try to scam them into free things by pretending they are on their honeymoon when they really aren’t

we were never ask to show proof. For our 2.5 weeks honeymoon, I let all the hotels know ahead of time that it’s for our honeymoon, here’s what we got out of it:
At one of the Four Seasons Hotel, we got upgraded to execute suite (from regular room), a dozen rose, and a cake
At the private villa, they welcome us with a flower bath, a fruit basket, the bed is decorated with flower petal, and a gift box with incenses and bath salt.
At beach side resort, they gave us welcome drink upon check in, a fruit basket, a plate of dessert, and a bottle of wine
And the BEST UPGRADE EVER is from InterContinental. They upgraded us from basic room to club level room. Club level room = corner room that has AMAZING VIEW of the city, free breakfast, free internet access, complimentary drink from 6:30am to 10pm, complimentary afternoon tea (with awesome little pastry and finger sandwiches), complimentary cocktail hours (delicious hor’dovers and open bars – and we are talking premium liquor here), plus free press/dry clean for 3 piece of attire! Additionality, in our room, they left a plate of gourmet chocolates in fancy box, strawberry biscuit, fresh strawberry, and dark chocoloate sauce for us to dip chocolate in! We LOVE LOVE LOVE this upgrade. Definitely will try to stay at InterContinental for all our special trips from now on.

as for airline, the only thing we got is on the way to honeymoon, they move our seat to an empty row so we have more room to stretch but nothing on the other legs.
