My fiance and I are going to book a 10-day Southern Caribean cruise on Holland America for our honeymoon and we’re going through AAA. Our travel agent told us that AAA offers a honeymoon registry where people don’t put money towards a particular element (i.e. botle of wine for dinner, shore excursion, etc.) but they just put money toward the cruise. If money comes in after the final payment is due, AAA just cuts us a check. I think we’re going to go ahead and do it, but I wanted t see if anyone else did a honeymoon registry and if so, did people actually participate in that? We’re concerned that we will have a honeymoon registry and everyone will prefer to buy something material off of our Target registry instead. Thanks for your insight!!!

Friends of ours did this through Disney- they had a lot of people participate!

We did a honeymoon registry with Honeyfund and so far, the response has been great! They do not charge a fee-people can print out a certificate and give you cash or a check, or if they prefer, they can pay directly into our PayPal account for a nominal fee (charged by PayPal). They were the only honeymoon registry that we found where the site itself didn’t charge a service fee of any sort.

Is this common within your social circle? Ask a few close friends what they think of the idea and see what kind of response you get. If people seem receptive and enthusiastic to the idea, then go for it!

My fiance and I are doing this! We have been living together for 8 months now and we have 3-4 full sets of dishes! We didn’t need anything (infact we could probably have a grage sale) so we are doing a honeymoon registry at http://www.honeymoonwishes.com
We even get a free wedding website to boot! All we need to decide on now is where to go.
