- Wedding: October 2013
I know the idea of Honeymoon registeries is passe to some, please refrain from commenting if that’s the case. This was a long carefully thought out decision based on the way we are and the way the people are we are inviting.
We’re in our 30s, we’re paying for the wedding ourselves, (my dad passed away 6 years ago and my mom is basically desitute from medical bills etc) we are diying the hell out of our shindig and I’m cutting costs on almost everything, IN CHICAGO mind you, this is very hard. We have worked really hard to have a great wedding and because we’re in our 30s, established adults we don’t need stuff. We tried to go register and i couldn’t bring myself to add 200 dollar sheets at Macy’s to a registry, I can go to TJMAXX; however growing up in a family who wasn’t always poor I came to love nice vacations, but rarely as an adult can afford them.
We were just going to do no-registry of any kind, but then my wisdom teeth happened, with insurance that was 2k out of pocket, sucking what life of savings we had for an Honeymoon.
So now that I wrote out my sob story, has anyone had experience using apple or Liberty for a honeymoon registry.
We’re considering both, they have the resort we’re intersted in on both their sites, but want something easy for guests and also not fee orientated for them like a lot of 3rd party sites.
We’re only inviting about 30-50 people not including plus ones, not a lot of family etc- so the whole etiquette thing is not really an issue for us- our friends and family know what we’re doing to pull of the wedding so most if not all are vocally supportive of this.
Thanks in advance!
