You can register for whatever you want. The registry sends you a check for the amount. So you are basically asking for cash and saying you will put it toward whatever they picked out on your registry.

@cbbillie:  Like @SarahCF:  said, you register for whatever and then you receive cash.  I’ve heard people are usually much more excited to give you one tangible thing (a couples massage, a romantic dinner, etc) rather than 1/10 of airfare.

@cbbillie:   I did a bit of research about honeymoon registries.  I ended up going with Our Honeymoon Registry as it doesn’t have any obligation of how you access the money. I also thought it was a bit more personal that guests could buy us a specific experience (cocktail/meal/massage) rather than just give money. I know in the end they are giving money, but I think it’s a bit better. Some other websites charge 7% commission – this one just $99 for us to set it up, guests aren’t charged anything. Just my opinion though!
