My SO and I went to Secrets Capri just on vacation… and it was the best vacation I have EVER taken.

From arrival to departure, it was just an amazing experience. They greet you with champagne and cold cloths, and help check you in and take you to your room.

The pool is amazing, and the bar is big enough that you never wait for service.

The food is A+, and you never run out of options. We ate everywhere at least once, but never got tired of it. The seafood restaurant by the pool is absolutely amazing. I loved the food, and never got sick from that or the water/ice – they use filtered water only for both.

The beach – this is where I was disappointed, but we visited at a time where a giant seaweed mess was floating down the coast, so all of the resorts just had a lot of seaweed in the water and also piled on the beach. However, they worked dawn to dusk just raking it and they did a pretty good job. I still got to sit on the beach and go in, I just had to avoid seaweed no matter what part I went to. Disclaimer – this was two years ago, and I think it was just bad timing on our part.

The Lagoon – this isn’t advertised, but there is a private lagoon about a mile walk to the left of the resort (if you are looking at the ocean, just go left and keep walking) that is absolutely a hidden gem. We spent one of our afternoons snorkeling (highly recommend you get snorkel gear from the resort and just borrow it) and it was such a fantastic experience. Crystal clear water, warm, and there is a tree grove in the middle of the lagoon, and also a beach that feeds the water to it. So cool!

The rooms – spacious, well kept, turn down service, updated, amazing! We hardly spent that much time in them, but they were awesome as well.

Activities – there were so many activities, but you didn’t have to participate. We loved the ones we did participate in, and I wish we hadn’t been so chicken and done a few more. They have a wide variety of shows, interactive games, we had a “poker” night where they set up poker in the ballroom and you used their chips, and at the end of the night there was an auction you cashed your chips in for. We went home with a great bottle of white wine – other people got free trips back to the resort, free spa services while they were there, and so many other things.

Loved it, highly recommend, and they are awesome! They do help a lot with scheduling excursions if you like that too – we did the cenote tour and ATV tour. I highly recommend the cenote, but the ATV was meh (but unaffiliated with the resort).

I liked my trip there… can you tell???

We went to one of the secrets for our honeymoon. It was fantastic, from the food to the room, services, and most of all time together. We had a honeymoon suite too which definitely made it more special. I want to go back now 😍

We just came back from Secrets Playa Mujeres and loved it! The beach was great, rooms great, food ok, plus it was quiet unlike the Cancun hotel zone which is what we wanted. It was only 20 min away from Cancun so if you want to go out downtown, it’s close.

We had a lot of people recommend Secrets Maroma Beach, but our room type was sold out and I didn’t want to break the bank auth a presidential suite. They supposedly have the best food and beach and it too is close to Cancun. Plus, there’s lots of excursions available and it’s gorgeous.

We were originally booked for Sandals Negril, but fell in love with Mexico and our suite was half the cost at Secrets and the flights were very reasonable.

Nope, we booked thru a travel agency. I do think we paid in full though.
