We didn’t do a honeymoon shower, but we did a shower that was Hawaiian-themed for our Hawaiian honeymoon. 🙂 The decor and food and music reflected the theme, but the gifts were standard bridal shower gifts.

I’m going to be honest…I’ve never in my life heard of a honeymoon shower! What is it?

I want a honeymoon shower! But I’m afraid to ask our guests for money or items off of a honeymoon registry. We live together already and have most of the stuff we need. Travel is the most important thing for us. And our honeymoon is going to cost a TON.

I’m jealous!

I’ve never heard of it…and if it’s just a party asking for people to give you money for the honeymoon, I’d say no way in heck.

BUT if I’m misunderstanding this, let me know!

I know someone who had a honeymoon shower. No offense to you or anyone else who does it, but I wasn’t a fan. I much prefer to give gifts at showers and cash at weddings. The honeymoon shower seems like a money grab to me. At least it did for the girl I know. Not saying it’s the same for you though.

I’ve never heard of a honeymoon shower, but have heard of honeymoon registries!  I think it’s an awesome idea.  A friend of mine did it, and each guest that contributes something to the honeymoon showers can print off a certificate of what it is and include it in the card.  I’n not sure on the site, but I know there are a number around…just make sure you research the site you want to use as I’ve heard some are major rip-offs!  And in that case you’d have to have an idea of the honeymoon first. 🙂

I don’t like Honeymoon showers where the guests are asked to either give cash or purchase off of a Honeymoon registry.  It ends up being a fundraiser for your Honeymoon and I think thats’ very, very inapproriate.  However, I think a Honeymoon themed shower would be fun!  Guests could get you gifts to be used on the Honeymoon (think luggage, lingerie, beach towels or hats and mittens depending on where you go, journal, photo albums, etc) and that’s stuff you could easily register for.

Also, you should totally do an Alaskan cruise.  Alaska is freaking awesome!

@smcs28 Yeah, my friend didn’t have a store registry at all. I ended up not going to the shower because I disliked the honeymoon shower so much! If she had a store registry, I would have gotten something off of that for her. I like the idea of adding honeymoony things to a store registry.

@smcs28:  HAH. No, no leis or hula skirts. Just tropical drinks and food and music.
