Honeymoon location:
Italy: Ravello, Positano, Capri
Time of year: End May- June 2008
Length of stay: 14 days
Accomodations (resort/hotel name): Hotel Caruso/ La Sirenuse/ JK Place Capri
Highlights: Sun, food and wine, gorgeous hotels
Lowlights: Nothing really except how expensive it all is.
Why did you pick the location: Getting married in Jamaica and wanted something other than Carribean.  We’ve been to Italy but not Southern Italy- so we chose this. For us it was about the once in a lifetime factor, so we went grand.
By The Way I just had to mention.  That we stayed at numerous hotels on our scouting trip through the Caribbean and Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda had some of the best service i have EVER experienced in my life.  It was so relaxing and beautiful.  I would highly recommend it to anyone on honeymoon or just vacationing! I’ll be going back… someday…

Honeymoon location: Maui, HI
Time of year: November
Length of stay: Two Weeks
Accomodations (resort/hotel name): 1-week Kahanna Falls, and second week not booked yet… We’re hoping to stay at the Hyatt
Highlights: Don’t know yet
Lowlights: Don’t know yet
Why did you pick the location: We haven’t been to Hawaii together, and thought it would be a great place to relax and get some secluded couple time.  Also, Fiance has some chef friends that work on the island, so we should get some great dinners (We originally thought we would book a cruise, but were afraid that the atmosphere would be too crowded.)

Honeymoon location: Negril, Jamaica
Time of year: mid-August 2007
Length of stay: 7 days
Accomodations (resort/hotel name): Couples Negril
Highlights: all-inclusive resort with nice beach, and couples only (no screaming kids or rowdy teens), awesome staff, warm waters, tasty food and desserts! We didn’t shell out a single penny except for buying gifts (they brought the craft market to the beach) and tips for the airport luggage carriers. scuba diving, snorkeling, windsailing, etc. all included.
Lowlights: not as fancy schmancy as I had hoped, but still lots of fun. humid. rained for an half an hour everyday at 11am, but then cleared up right away.
Why did you pick the location: a freind recommended it, and I would highly recommend it! ah, and FYI it was about $4,000 for the two of us including airfare and a 7 night stay.

Honeymoon location: Aruba
Time of year: August 25 – September 2
Length of stay: 9 days
Accomodations (resort/hotel name): Bucuti Beach Resort
Highlights: Incredibly beautiful, uncrowded beach; great food at the restaurant; personal/intimate feeling; fabulous service; they accept the dollar and everyone speaks English.
Lowlights: This isn’t one of those all-inclusives with a pool complex, etc. so if that’s your thing you should try Aruba’s high-rise area.  Also, Hurricane Felix made an appearance on the last day of our trip.
Why did you pick the location: Incredibly beautiful beaches, conductive to being lazy, and they *never* get hurricanes (!).

Honeymoon location: Lanai, Hawaii
Time of year: May 28-June 1
Length of stay: 4.5 days/4 nights (we also spent one night in Waikiki)
Accomodations (resort/hotel name): The Lodge at Koele (Four Seaons) and our one night in Waikiki at Halekulani
Highlights: Beautiful secluded location, several hotel offered activities (archery, golf, horseback riding, hiking, spa, pool), fantastic hotel/amenities/service, very luxurious, total pampering, beautiful grounds; it’s a perfect place to just enjoy each other’s company; also, the two Four Seasons properties on the island offer free shuttle service between the two (about a 20 minute ride) and you use both hotels’ facilities and can charge to your room from either property
Lowlights: To us, it wasn’t a big deal, but the town is teeny; there’s not much to do other than hotel stuff, and there are only 6-7 restaurants in "town" (you can see all of town in 10 minutes. If you walk slow.).  No nightlife, other than hotel bars. Some people feel trapped, but we loved it.
Why did you pick the location: We’d both never been to Lanai before, and had always dreamed of going there for our honeymoon. We didn’t want a big trip where we would feel obligated to sight see, so this was like staying home, but better!

  • Wedding: December 2004

We haven’t gone on my honeymoon, but we have it planned.
Honeymoon location: Disney World
Time of year: April 09
Length of stay: A week.
Accomodations (resort/hotel name): We’re not sure yet.
Highlights: Everything is a highlight when you’re at Disney World
Lowlights: The flight…and the fact that it’s not your typical exotic honeymoon.
Why did you pick the location: We never really talked about it. We just KNEW we were going to Disney World. We’re Disney freaks. lol.

  • Wedding: June 2008

Honeymoon location: Hawaii
Time of year: end of June/ July
Length of stay: 1-2 weeks
Accomodations (resort/hotel name): timeshare, so not sure yet
Highlights: beach/ scenery
Lowlights: flight length from east coast
Why did you pick the location: We’ve traveled a lot together, and our usual style is typically "runrunrun see it all". Honeymoon we want to find a spot on the beach, sleep in, relax & drink all day, stay up late see pretty scenery and thats pretty much it. We’re playing with the idea of taking amtrak for a week from the east coast to san francisco, stopping a few places along the way (to get in the runrunrun factor) and then flying to hawaii from there for a week.

  • Wedding: October 2006

Honeymoon location: Kauai, HI
Time of year: 2nd week of October
Length of stay: 7 days/6 nights
Accomodations (resort/hotel name): Waimea Plantation Cottages in Waimea (discovered it on http://www.tripadvisor.com.)
Highlights: Secluded, on the beach, had our own cottage, they upgraded us because it was our honeymoon, quaint, beautiful, quiet, has spa amenities (though we didn’t use them), ocean breeze
Lowlights:  There weren’t any for us – it was just what we wanted.  On the lower end budget-wise, quiet, somewhat rustic, and peaceful.  If you’re looking for a pampering place with room service and air conditioning (though on the ocean in Oct. the breeze was enough) this isn’t it.  But after a short 5-months of wedding planning and entertaining a lot of out-of-town guests, all we wanted was a peaceful place to start our life as husband and wife.  So it was perfect for us.
