Hi bees. A couple months before my Fiance proposed, I decided to apply to grad school to get my dual cert in special Ed. Right now I am certified k-6 but have had trouble getting a teaching job in Ct. My program starts in march and includes 2 student teaching periods during the summers of 14 and 15. I had known this but wanted to marry my Fiance so we put a deposit down for a venue for July 3, 2014. We had always planned to honeymoon to Italy but now I’m afraid that wont happen. I brought it up to Fiance and he just got mad and said it’s all my fault and I should have planned better. I feel so bad but I really didn’t want to wait three years to marry the man of my dreams and I know he’s just masking his disappointment with anger. I am just having trouble figuring out how our timing is going to work…

Speaking as a fellow teacher, you can definitely honeymoon later on. It is much more important to go back to school to upgrade your certification to allow you to have more job opportunities! He’ll come around in time

I am also going to be in grad school taking classes and working next summer and ours is a June wedding. We plan to honeymoon right after just for a week or so. I plan to take off work and try to make up the classes ahead of time if I can. You could probably take a week off if you gave them enough notice, but there’s nothing wrong with going over winter break. I’ve had several friends in school do that

@rubyduby2: what pp’s said. I am in grad school so our honeymoon will be well after our marriage. I think it is super rude of your SO you make you feel bad about trying to better yourself for the both of you. Italy isn’t going anywhere!
