We have a tentative wedding date of Aug 30 2013, honeymoon hopefully in the first week of september.
Do you think Las Vegas would be over stimulating after planning a wedding? Im concerned about doing an all inclusive to mexico and getting bored with laying on the beach with margaritas after the second day. What would you do?

@FutureMrsRoos: We actually did both, so I’m not much help. Lol. We went to Vegas 2 days after the wedding for 3 nights and then went on our 7 night cruise to the Mexican Riviera that next Sunday. We only really did this because our wedding was a Sunday and we didn’t want to just sit home and do absolutely nothing during the week prior to the cruise. Have you been to either place before?

There’s sooooooo much more to get into in Mexico than just lying around on the beach. I picked Mexico because of the variety of different places and activities to go to in Mexico rather than partying the whole time in Vegas.

I love Vegas, but for my honeymoon, I would rather go somewhere, kick back on the beach & have tropical drinks brought to me all day!! That’s just us though. Vegas to me is more always on the go/partying.. more of a fun getaway & not a relaxing honeymoon. Some people like to be go, go, go on their honeymoon though. You just h ave to decide what you and your FH want to do.

It depends on the vibe you want – if you do go tropical, remeber that you can do so much more then just lay around, as there are many different excursions like snorkeling, scuba, parasailing, dune buggy rides, and even historical tours as there are many Mayan ruins in Mexico.
Also, if your looking for the “show” aspect, many resorts have nightly shows with performers, magicians, circus theme, etc.

We chose Vegas because we’ve been to Mexico so many times (it’s a cheap getaway when you’re based in Texas!) and we craved something different. Vegas doesn’t have to be all partying all the time just like Mexico doesn’t have to be all laying around on the beach. Your honeymoon destination is what you make of it! We didn’t go to a single club on our Vegas honeymoon – we took in some shows, went to lots of nice restaurants, got some couples massages and spa treatments, ordered room service, did all kinds of things that didn’t involve partying.

I picked Mexico. Then if you fFI want to just lay around its super relaxing and if you don’t you can always go on an excursion, or go into the city.

@FutureMrsRoos: I think either would be a good choice. I’ve been to Mexico twice and really enjoyed it. You don’t *have* to sit by the beach all the time, but that’s what we opted to do last time lol. There’s plenty of excursions that you can do, and you can walk along the beach from one resort to another, go to different pools, try kayaking or windsurfing… etc. Only downside is that if you have a sensitive stomach, you might not be feeling too good… we went to a 5-star resort and I still had tummy troubles. Then again, I do on pretty much any trip, no matter where in the world.
Vegas only has to be as stimulating as you want. We’re not party people but we still really enjoy Vegas. Nice dinners, checking out all the hotels and Bellagio fountains, a little bit of gambling, shopping, pampering at the hotel… and to bed at a reasonable time.

I LOVE VEGAS and my guy actually proposed while we were on vacation for TWO WEEKS there (we REALLY love it, I’m telling you! lol) and while it was really nice to have a 1 bedroom suite with a kitchen & basically an apartment and relaxing feeling to the trip to do whatever we wanted and see a show or two and get massages and drink by the pool and go out… I don’t think its really honeymoon-worthy…
WE went all-inclusive in Mexico actually! lol
We didn’t have much time for a honeymoon so we took the 2-hour flight from OC to Cabo and had a fantastic time at an adults only 5* all inclusive! We met TONS of other honeymooners and made lots of friends that we went out with and did activities with and it was a blast! There is ALWAYS something to do in Mexico and you are only bored if you let yourself!
Also, ITS SO AFFORDABLE! Mexico is fabulous for the budget-honeymoon. They are such appreciative people and your tips go millions of miles! Some people think its unsafe but we had a great time (and there are MANY safer places than cabo – like cancun! lol). We had people telling us “Don’t get kidnapped!” and “Don’t drink the water!” but everytime we go we love it more and more and are SO HAPPY with the great deal we got for the amazing views, hotels, and service.
Go All inclusive Mexico! You won’t regret it one bit!!!
