Hi there, I would look online at what is available, then approach a travel agent & see what beenfits that can provide you. they will always want your business & try to do something for you. have fun planning!

We booked online and everything was perfect.

I found a fantastic condo on http://www.homeaway.com that ended up being about $143 per night taxes included, and it was absolutely wonderful.

ETA: We stayed in Kona (the big island) for 2 weeks.

@Nic01:  Agreed!!!  That’s what we did!  I looked online, then went to an agent.  When the agent came back with a price about $200 more, I told them I’d book online instead since it was cheaper.  They matched the online price and then some.

The other bonus with using a TA is if there are discruptions to airlines (think back to european volano) your TA will be able to help you & figure out you’re step flight. Whereas if you book by yourslef, you & 1000’s of others willbe battling the same customer service number.

I usually book myself online, but for my honeymoon I used a TA. Se got me the same price that I would have gotten myself, and she throws in extra perks. I like using travel agents doesn’t cost anymore.

My fiance and I booked for Maui, Hawaii. We haven’t gone yet (3 more weeks!), but we booked online through expedia, and got what we think is an amazing rate!! Check it out!

travel agent! dont risk your honeymoon by doing it yourself over the internet. sometimes the travel agent can find you thet best deal. go to someone your family had dealt with and had a good experience with.

I was going to go with a travel agent and ended up just booking online.  Now I’ll never know if I could have gotten a better deal.  Oh well.  I like the idea of looking online first then going to an agent and seeing what they can do for you.
