I just returned from my 9 day honeymoon on Friday and haven’t been to the gym in about a month. No real reason besides being lazy and stressed with last minute wedding planning. Well because of that and my honeymoon, I put on about 10 pounds 🙁 ugh! I got myself up for the gym yesterday morning and did a half hour of cardio but had no motivation to do anything else. I used to go 5 days a week, do 20-25 mins cardio and weight train 🙁 this morning Darling Husband tried to get me up but I wasn’t doing it. Any advice? Anyone else get off track like this post wedding??

Take photos and measurements… that usually motivates me to make improvements! Also, don’t jump back in at 5 days a week- you can get overtraining injuries or burn out. Ease back in, take a spin class, meet a friend for a weightlifting session, and try a new class (zumba, yoga, pilates, water aerobics, etc).
Or, try something entirely new. Sign up for a 10k, join a Boot camp class, take the dog on a long walk every evening after dinner, bike to work (obviously if you commute to another town or don’t have a dog, those might not work for you!)
Also, attack this from the diet side of things as well. Sign up with MyFitnessPal (it’s free) and asses how many and what kind of calories you’re taking in daily. Increase protein, water, fresh fruits and veggies, reduce/eliminate processed foods, white carbs, junk food, soft drinks. Make small changes that can add up over time.

@FutureMrs86: I think this is fairly normal.
I’d just force yourself to do it, and in a couple weeks you’ll be back in the routine. It sounds to me like you used to exercise regularly, so it’ll be easier than if you just decided to start exercising from scratch now.
I’d try and work in some more fun acitivites if you can. So instead of going to the gym by yourself, maybe play tennis with your husband, or go swimming or just do something a bit different.

@canarydiamond: My husband is the one that usually can get me up in the morning to go with him but I have been slacking. I’m hoping to be in a regular routine in about a week or so. I lost over 30 pounds and I refuse to let myself gain it back! Thank you so much for the advice!!
