Does anyone have any “all-inclusive” honeymoon ideas? In particular I am looking for budget locations (like $3,000 or less for everything including airfare). I originally considered a cruise, but I honestly have no idea how they work. I’ve never been on a vacation…ever. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi – I’m in pretty much the same boat. Not knowing where you live, it’s hard to be specific. What I did/am doing is starting with locations that don’t require airfare first, i.e. a few hours’ drive. Time of year has a lot to do with it also. For example, we’re getting married in April, not a good time to be in Northern US/Canada, good time to go south. You can Google search best weather in October in different parts of the world, that’s a good point to start, also tripadvisor.com is a website I use a lot, they have forums on different areas and lots of good ideas. October is beautiful in many areas of US, if that’s where you live. San Francisco for one, also many areas of east coast have foliage to die for.

$3,000 is a great budget for a honeymoon, you should have lots of options! I did Mexico (Puerto Vallarta) with my Fi in Oct 2009 and LOVED it. We stayed at Dreams Puerto Vallarta, which is all inclusive and was awesome. I think we came in around 2500ish for the week. I know there are lots of great places in Mexico that are pretty cheap.
Also, October is hurricane season which means great deals in the Caribbean if you’re willing to risk it! Look in the Bahamas maybe?
I recommend expedia.com or travelocity.com. Have fun looking around!

tripadvisor has a lot of user reviews that can help you decide. i always use kayak for airfare, and travelocity, expedia, or hotels.com for hotels.
if you’re not sure where you want to go, sign up for travelzoo.com’s newsletters. they send out GREAT deals once a week…recently they had an all-inclusive in mexico for $50 a day.

We’re taking a cruise to Bermuda for our Honeymoon. Our total budget is $3500 but it could definitely be done for cheaper if you live closer to a cruise port (we’ll be taking a limo to and from the port which is 3.5 hours away). This will be our first cruise but I’ve done YEARS of research so I feel like I’m pretty well educated on the whole thing.
If you are interested in learning more about the cruise, PM me. =)
