Since reading Miss Peep Toe’s blog about their honeymoon plans for Panama, I can’t get the overwater bungalows out of my mind! I’ve done my online research, but I am looking for some personal experiences from the hive! We will be traveling in mid-October, so any weather information would be great too! Thanks!

I spent 6 glorious months in service to Uncle Sam (aka Army deployment) in Panama. The area we were in was closer to the Atlantic side and it was right by one of the locks. We were there from June through to the first of December and it really wasn’t bad at the end (so towards October). What I remember most was that it rained every day at the same time every day. It started out that it would rain at like 12:30 or 1 and then as the months went by the rain came later. As much as I joke that it was the worst place on earth, it was really beautiful, just the reason I was there was ugly. We spent many a day enjoying the weather and the rain was a blessing because it would get rid of the muggy feeling that came right before the rain. Where are you planning on staying? If you do go, make sure you take a boat ride through the canal – that is so much fun!

Along with Miss Peep, we’re also honeymooning in Panama.
Would suggest researching Lonely Planet’s destination boards (Thorntree) for Panama questions from people who’ve been/live there. They’ve been very helpful to us in the planning of our trip.
Also, would suggest the Moon November 2008 guidebook. It’s by far the best. The Lonely Planet guide is a bit outdated.

So excited to hear that you were inspired by my post. I totally suggest Moon!! And check out the places we are staying. Once we secured our dates at the Coffee Estate Inn they gave us a ton of details regarding where to stay, and they will even make some of our reservations for us for a small- 3 bucks- fee.
I’ve also found trip advisor really helpful!!
