@MrsM914:  Amelia Island is beautiful, but I haven’t actually found a lot to do there.  There’s a place where you can go horseback riding on the beach and places to rent kayaks.

@MrsM914:  Amelia Island is a resort area where most people either lay on the beach, hit the spa, or golf.  You can take the ferry to Cumberland Island National Seashore for the day but make sure to take plenty of water and snacks since there are no stores or restaurants on the island.  Other than that I can really only recommend taking a kayak tour.

If you can stay somewhere else I can highly recommend downtown Savannah, GA or St. Augustine, FL for a romantic mini-moon; you can take carriage tours and nightly ghost walks in both cities.  Savannah has a wonderful nightlife as well due to the nearby Army base.  Hilton Head Island, SC and Jekyll Island, GA are other great resort islands (HHI is my favorite) but again these are resort towns that thrive on spas, shopping, and golf.)
