I’m from the metro ATL area and love georgia!  There’s so much to do in ATL and then you could do a 3 to 4 hour drive to Savannah and the georgia coast and also visit St. Simon’s, and Jekyll Island and get a good feel for the coastal Low Country.

So much to do here!!!

We’re going to St. Augustine FL for a coupl of days and we are driving down there becase we both love to road trip and he wanted to go somewhere warm. Also it has some major history and major tourist town so that means lots of funky little shops 🙂

No matter where you go it will be a special time. My fiance and I are not tropical beach people so instead we are going to MT for a week to hike, play in the snow, snowmobile and do all the things we enjoy. Also to RELAX. Have fun!

My fiance and I are going to New Orleans 🙂 I wanted to go out of the country since I’ve never been, but we don’t currently have passports and I was too worried we wouldn’t get them on time. We’ll only be in NO for 3 nights, but we’re taking a train there and back from Chicago. It’s not the greatest, but we don’t have a lot of vacation time and the train saved us a bit of money. At least we can cozy together and enjoy the scenery! We chose NO because neither of us drive (from NYC!) and from the sounds if it, it’ll be easy to get around. My fiance is really looking forward to the food 😀 I won’t be able to make Jambalaya from the box for him anymore once he has the real stuff!

@ Happilywaiting-

I sent you a PM, but I’ll post for anyone here that would like to know-we looked and looked for a reputable cabin company. We finally decided on Fireside Cabin and Chalet rentals. You can search cabins by different criteria-bed size, pool access, bedrooms, location, etc. Our "must have’s" were king size bed, fireplace(s), hot tub, & secluded location. We also liked that the Fireside website offers full views of the cabins-since we will be there for a week & we are planning on spending a significant amount of time at the cabin, we didn’t particularly want to be crammed into a studio, so we were looking for something with an upstairs & downstairs, a loft, or multi-levels with plenty of space. While we love kids (I have twins!), we just didn’t want to be in a location surrounded by families & noise. While that type of vacation may be fine for us when we have the under 6 team of double trouble with us, for our honeymoon, we wanted something that was much more secluded with more privacy. We also booked last year, so we were able to get those rates and I believe that one of those nights is also free because we are staying for a week. We’ve been on a couple of mini-vacations/long weekends to several places-Chimney Rock, Brevard, Hendersonville-all around the NC/upstate SC area & an easy drive from his parent’s home-we are always regretting having to leave and seem to feel like no sooner do we get settled and really relaxed when it is time to pack up and head home. I am looking forward to this long time away.

We’re going to Catalina.  We debated on several places, but decided to piggy back it onto our trip to Cali for our other reception (the Cali reception was a compromise I made with my mom for us getting married here in Wyoming).  The honeymoon will be after the second reception, of course.  Then we’ll take the scenic route home instead of just flying up 15 like we usually do.

We’re off to Cape Cod right from our "thank for coming" breakfast with our guests! Chatham to be exact. I can’t wait! We are staying at the same B&B we went to for our first vacation away together. We are planning on taking day trips to whale watch, shop in P-town and hang out on Martha’s Vineyard. Plus the innkeeper at this B&B (Chatham House Inn – highly recommended!) will set up dinners and outtings as you desire – like we’ve requested an in-room couple massage and she’s setting it up. I don’t need to leave the coutry to get a good massage and live in the newlywed-ness:)
