Hey Bees! We’re beginning to plan our honeymoon for November this year (2012)…we want something beachy but where there is enough activities (maybe like ziplining or something like that) to keep it adventurous! Any suggestions? Where have you gone? Did you love it? I’d love to hear your recommendations!!!

I didnt go for my honeymoon but is sounds like Costa Rica might be something for you to look into. We did zip lining, white water rafting, beaches, the wildlife is amazing!
Our honeymoon was just a very relaxing 10 days on a beach at St John.

My honeymoon certainly wouldn’t fit your criteria – we went on a cruise to Alaska.
But I agree with the PP that Costa Rica would probably be great for you. I’ve been before and loved it!

We’re going to be doing Costa Rica in April after our wedding. We’re donig all of the things that you mentioned. I can give you an update on how it goes when we get back! 😀

@ria2886: Costa Rica is incredible but unfortunately November is not a good time to go. I’m not a CR expert but my FH and I actually considered CR for our November honeymoon, but I have a contact who lives there and strongly advised against coming in November b/c it’s the rainy season. 🙁
We ended up choosing St. Lucia and are staying at THE most incredible looking resort I have ever seen in my life – check it out below. If you’re a fan of the Bachelor, this is where Jake proposed to Vienna! In other celebrity news, Kendra and Hank also honeymooned here! The resort is near the Pitons (volcanic mountains in St. Lucia) so you can go hiking there, and I know there is also ziplining available.

We’re going to St. Lucia Sandals La Toc the first week in November… it is after hurricane season and will still be amazing weather.

Our honeymoon was in Savannah, GA. We had a wonderful trip! We travel extensively, so we didn’t feel like we had to do something extravagent for our Honeymoon.

Hmmm… it doesn’t have ziplining, but have you checked out Tortola? We went there for my graduation trip in June.. It may be a little too non-adventuresome for you, but we SCUBA dove one day, rented a sailboat another day that took us over to Jost Van Dyke to check out the Soggy Dollar Bar and do a little snorkelling, and another day we took a ferry over to Virgin Gorda to snorkel the Baths (I can’t even do it justice trying to tell you about it, just google image “the baths virgin gorda”).
We stayed in the Palm Grove Villa above Long Bay (just driving up that hill was adventuresome, frankly!) and we only paid.. I dunno, somewhere around $1200-1400 for a week. It was absolutely fantastic! If you go though, remember to bring bug spray!

I can’t offer you any help, I’m afraid. I laid it all in my FI’s hands and he’s booked a big surprise adventure for us! I can’t wait. I wont know where we’re going until we get to the layover city and I see the final flight destination on the screen. 🙂

@AshleyR83: Jade Mountain looks incredible. I know my honeymoon is going to be great, but I gotta say I am a little jealous and regretful I didn’t hear of this place sooner!
No cell phones on premises either. Sounds like heaven!

@LuckyJuls: I loved the idea of Jade Mountain too, but did you check out their prices?! It’s like a grand a night.. :/

@rachie205: I did, oh man :(. Jade Mountain would be the perfect place to go after I win the lottery, lol.

We are getting married in Punta Cana so that will be our honey moon as well. We are staying at the Melia Caribe Tropical and have heard amazing things about it. We will be taking a belated honeymoon to Sandals either one in St Lucia or Antigua. We are going to do that in October or November. We are huge fans of sandals and have been to Sandals Royal Bahamian and Sandal Royal Carribbean in jamaica!! I cant wait to go

We had a hard time deciding where to go as well, we went back and forth between Turks and Cacos, Antigua an Mexico and decided we would be able tothey the most for our money in St Lucia.
