So I was previously engaged and was suppose to have 7 bridesmaids all who bought dresses and we were planning a big wedding. Well things didn’t work out and all my bridesmaids were very supportive and understanding and told me not to worry about it. I felt incredibly bad that they were out money.I am now engaged again and getting married. We are having a small intimate wedding and weren’t really planning on having any attendants. I would like to do something special for the girls, maybe an honoree bridesmaid position or something and was wondering if anyone had an ideas or suggestions. We just don’t have the budget to have a big wedding and want to keep it small and simple. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You could call them your personal attendants. Use the title as an excuse for them to hang out with you all day and help you get ready!

Personal attendants, readers, hair or make-up artist, ushers…Just a few options.
Begin Rant: Please, do NOT make them guest book attendants, that is a throw away titile for young people you don’t want/aren’t old enough to be in your Bridal Party. End Rant.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. Would you have them wear their dresses?

@amohundro420: I probably wouldn’t have them wear their dresses. I think it will confuse a lot of people, I say that on the premise that their dresses are very “bridesmaid-looking”. If they’re not, the girls could wear them with a shawl or pashmina.
