Ok, I’m sorry but I’m going to sound like dumb…. what the heck is a hoop or a crinoline? I just saw one of the threads for my dress and one of the ladies mentionned that she had a 5 something hoop, huh?! What is that? What is the difference between a hoop and a crinoline? ***Puts head down feeling very silly***

A crinoline is a slip that has tulle to make the dress poof more. A hoop is a slip that has metal inserted to make the dress have more shape. I decided to get both for mine. If you scroll down you I posted pictures of the individual items – http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/crinoline-hoop-skirt.

You can also have additional crinoline added to the actual dress (sewn in) so you don’t need to wear a slip (which is what I did for my fit and flare gown).
