Ugh! What about having the top of the slip (like the waist) altered to add length? That way it wouldn’t mess with the crinoline on the bottom but wouldn’t look too short in the end?

lol, I don’t know if it is… but I don’t know why not…. I bought mine at David’s, but there was no hoop. 🙁 It was actually too long for me, though, and I am 5’10”, so if you don’t have any luck, you might want to call DB. If they can’t help, they might have an idea.

I had a crinoline/hoop mermaid slip and it sat maybe 5 inchesoff the floor. I actually found it more comfortable than the ones that sat on the floor and it looked fine with my dress.

i actually thought the hoop wasn’t supposed to touch the floor? i’m pretty short and mine still didn’t. it actually helped to hold the skirt off a bit so it sort of floated at the floor instead of dragging.

It’s not suppose to so low. If you watch Gone With the Wind, their hoops sit pretty proper.

You want the hoop to be several inches above the floor or you risk stepping on it or catching your foot in the fabric above it, and then you’ll go straight down. You need room for your feet under the hoop, and as long as your dress hen isn’t sheer it shouldn’t be noticeable that it’s shorter.

How does it look with the dress over it? It’s supposed to be above the ground. As long as it holds the skirt of your dress out it should be fine.
