We have been updating our kitchen. It was firmly stuck in the 80’s, with laminate counters and no backsplash. We decided to give it a refresh by putting in new countertops, sink and backsplash. I am really excited as to how it is turning out.
Here it is halfway through!

Looks great! Thats such a unique backsplash. Your cabinets definately don’t look 80’s either.

We were lucky since it was in pretty good shape, overall.
The previous owner was an architect and wanted to keep the house somewhat historical when he renovated and the old kitchen had glass paned cabinets. We wish that he had kept them where they were! The old cabinets are currently in the garage and laundry room and would be very much in style now.
We love the backsplash so far, and have been looking for knicknacks to shove in the cracks between the ceramic tiles. Right now, we have keys, shells, old marbles, pebbles and a lot of little glass tiles.

Yeah! It looks great! Are you DIYing it? I can’t wait to find a fixer upper, take a hammer to it, and restore it with FI! 🙂 I’m not wedding crafty, but I can lay tile.
