how long was the appointment?  maybe if you were half an hour late, they didn’t have enough time

I had 2 hair trials with stylists who came very highly recommended and they sucked. I went to my third stylist and she was super awesome! Hang in there, it happens. Finding the right stylist for you is much better than settling.

I’m with li612, perhaps they rushed through yours because you were so late.

But I do sympathize with you if you dont feel comfortable with these people doing your hair on your wedding day. I know with my hair trial even though she really didn’t use a lot of product in my hair she put it up in such a way that it took FOREVER to take down. And that was just us goofing around and playing with my hair! Your hair should’ve last a lot longer than just the evening.

I agree that if you were late, that probably had something to do with your hair. They probably didn’t have the time to help with the tiara, etc. A half an hour is quite a bit of time you missed out on. But if you dont think they are seeing your vision, try someone else!

It’s incredibly odd to me that they started with your Bridesmaid or Best Man instead of the BRIDE. I mean, really???

At my hair trial, my hairdresser was very careful to explain that my hair trial hair would not be as good as my wedding day hair. As she was doing it, she kept explaining that this would “give me an idea” of what it would be like and “did I like this and did I like that.” At the end she said that early in her career she did an awsome hair trial for someone and then on the wedding day, the bride was furious with her because she had loved her trial SO MUCH and she didn’t think her Day Of hair was the same. I think its impossible to get someones’s hair the exact same every time. Anyway, my hairdresser said that ever since then, she makes sure that the trial hair is not as good. It might sound bad to some people, but it made sense to me. (my trial  hair also started to falll out within a couple hours). And I loved my hair on the day of my wedding and there was no way it was going to fall out. My hair was perfect from 10 a.m. til 2 a.m. the next day. Anyway, if I were you, to ease your mind, maybe ask for another trial or at least talk to the hair dresser about your concerns. And maybe keep in mind that a trial doesn’t mean your wedding day hair will be as bad or won’t stay in as well.

i think you are correct to go with another trial.  Be sure to schedule it when you can certainly be on time.

Good Luck!

Do you have pictures of ideas that you could bring with you for the next trial? Maybe they just didn’t quite see your vision.

I don’t think anyone was chastising you, or iteded to (I know I didnt–I was just trying to offer an explanation for you as to why they “rushed” and it didnt live up to it’s reputation). But I think the way you specifically mentioned you were late and then they rushed gave everyone that impression.

I hope your next trial goes well and you are pleased! Hopefully you can communicate to the stylist what you want and it will turn out the way you envision. Good luck!

I used to be a hairdresser, unfortunatly when a client is even as little as five minutes late it really can stuff up the whole day. If a bride is half hour late its pretty impossible to catch that up.

Also note tiaras are sometimes a real pain, did you take it out and show her, she was likely stressed from rushing so forgot to ask and different tiaras can be secured in very different ways, they sometimes dont work in certain hairstyles depending on the types of fastening.

I think the best thing to do is have a second trial so you feel better and so she knows exactly how to secure you tiara and veil, and honestly be on time, this is not to tell you off it is just common sense as you are the one who suffers if you are not
