@RoyalLime:  The woman who wrote that book highly recommends TCOYF, but she  said it is incorrect about a couple of things and specifically said one of those things is that it says the day of ovulation is the best day to conceive.  Like hergreenapples, I love that book!  It’s funny and informative, but an easy read rather than a manual.  I also really love the chapter on the psychological issues involved with TTC which a lot of TTC books don’t address (at least not that I’ve found).  I think anyone who’s been TTC more than a couple of months can relate to the psychological and emotional issues involved in TTC.  More than anything, I found the book to be very comforting and encouraging.

@RoyalLime:  Please do let me know how you like it!   I have Hamikay to thank for recommending it in the first place.  Good luck to you!  Now that you know you aren’t out for the month, you can start symtom spotting–Wink

@RoyalLime:  As long as you have enough going on down there on your own, the Pre-Seed shouldn’t be necessary. I was on Clomid and it dried me up like a prune so we pretty much had to use something! Mmmmm. So sexy. I’m SO sexy. LOL.

I agree with the others that your timing isn’t that off. Hoping for the best for you. I just purchased clear blue easy fertility monitor. My schedule is crazy and I’ve been horrible at temping ( I know the CBEFM doesn’t tell you that youve actually ovulated like temping!) but I feel like that will give me my best chance of letting me know all the days leading up to ovulation that are good for BDing. From what I’ve read regular OPK’s only tell you when youve had an LH surge where this monitor reads estrogen as well so it can give you even more fertile days leading up to O since like others have said, sperm can live up to 5 days in you. Just a thought for you to help with timing! But very pricey.. ouch. That purchase hurt a little. Havent used it or technically start TTC yet so hoping for the best. It has great reviews though but I dont’t hear to many bees talk about using them.

@RoyalLime:  I know exactly how you feel, we never seem to get the timing right also!  It doesn’t help that I don’t O until CD33 so by that time we have been waiting for O for ages and seem to run out of steam a bit!

I do think that your timing this time seems fine, actually very similar to mine this cycle.  We BD O-2 and O and I am also 5dpo at the moment!

At first i was a bit stressed with that timing but i have also head from heaps of people that O-2 can be really good timing so FX’d for us both!  I have also heard that the day after O can be good to.  When are you going to test?

I think you ovulated on Wednesday not Saturday. I might be wrong.  Count the days from when you start your period 14 days back, that should be the day you ovulate. The temperatures may play tricks on us. Remember ovulation only lasts 24 hours more or less.

@candy11:  not everybody ovulates on CD14… For example, I regularly ov between days 18 and 21. Without a few more cycles to look at it is hard to say if she could have ovulated sooner.

OP, I know how frustrating it all is, but I agree your timing looks pretty good! You’re not out til you’re out ๐Ÿ™‚

@RoyalLime:  FWIW, the month we got pregnant (Cycle 13) we had sex ONE TIME  before ovulation–maybe even three days…my O day was a little iffy that month.

Believe me, I know how frustrating it is, and I definitely won’t tell you to relax (because I know how impossible and infuriating that is) but I promise you that however long it takes to happen it will happen, and that little baby will completely be worth the stress now.

And anyway, you’re only 5DPO, you’re definitely still in the game…good luck!
