My SO and I have been going through some seriously rough financial times as of late. He got fired from his serving job at a restaurant in the city (without being told why) and hasn’t received any money from working his real estate job yet. So we are living off of my salary as a state employee for now. We had a really rough day on friday when we realized just how bad our money situation is… so we decided to run away from our problems and head up to my parents house in the Poconos for the weekend. They weren’t home, so it was just us and the dogs (all 4 of them!), playing house. On Saturday morning, we went to my parents’ trusted jeweler to have him take a look at my ring setting and the diamond to go in it. He set and sized my engagement ring for us! It looks absolutely stunning and beautiful and I am SO excited!! We cooked a nice dinner in that night and just spent the rest of the day relaxing.
Mr. Frosting has not proposed to me yet. He said he darn well wasn’t just going to hand me the box in the jewelery store and say ‘here you go’. He also told me that he wasn’t going to hang onto it for long either once it was set and sized! So depite how bad things are financially, I am so happy that we have each other to get through the rough times. And so grateful the jeweler cut us an awesome deal 🙂
