Most of my day was terrible. I don’t drink often, but last night I went out to a club because a couple of friends were in town to celebrate a birthday. I didn’t even drink that much, but somehow I ended up getting sick, which never happens to me! Of course I woke up with a horrible hangover, and I’ve felt so bad all day. I think this is a reminder to stay in my comfort zone. I’m a homebody and happy about that!
Then my boyfriend said something that made me feel way better. A little background on us: On Valentine’s Day, we’ll celebrate our sixth dating anniversary. We met in college, became really great friends and then started dating. We’ve been talking about the possibility of marriage in our future pretty much since the beginning and looking forward to it when the time is right. We’re long-distance, about 700 miles apart, and have been since we graduated from college 2.5 years ago.
Tonight, I was scrolling through Facebook and saw that a friend of ours from college got engaged. I texted my Boyfriend or Best Friend, and he said the girl posted a picture of the ring on Instagram. I looked at it and told him it was gorgeous. He said he thought so, too. Then I told him the band reminded me of a ring I told him about before that I saw and really loved. I asked him if he wanted to see a picture of it. His response was “Sure!” I was already happy because he seemed excited to see it. I sent the pictures, and he wrote this: “Well who knows? Maybe you’ll be seeing something like that this summer :)”
I couldn’t stop smiling. I know that’s where we’re headed, but I love it when he says stuff like that. I’ve been secretly hoping a proposal would come before then, but it’s just really nice to hear him put a timeline on it. He’s been looking for a job in my area, and it’s been getting frustrating waiting.
Anyway! Sorry this was so long but I wanted to share.
