One of my favorites is where the Mommy to Be leaves the room.  The rest of the crowd passes around a roll of streamers and tries to guess the circumference of the mom’s belly.  When everyone is done, she comes back in and she measures each one to see who was the closest.  Really cheap and fun.

I did my sister’s first baby shower Pirate themed. It was awesome, because it wasn’t the usual. Everyone loved it!

I recently threw a baby shower!!!

After I get done talking about it, I’ll post pictures…

I’m not a fan of cheesy games (sniffing a candy bar in a diaper isn’t for me..eww), so the only game we played was one where I put a baby related item in a bag labeled “Baby Girl” (one letter per bag, so 8 bags, 8 items).  The guests had to guess what baby related item was in each bag and then the mommy-to-be got to keep all the items.

We had lots of food–chicken empanadas, cheese puffs, pinwheels, and stuffed mushrooms plus a veggie tray, fruit tray, and chex mix.  We had super yummy punch and I had carafes of water on the table as well.  There was also a dessert buffet with a cake that I made, red velvet cookie sandwiches (from bakerella.com), and two kinds of candy.  I made macarons (recipe from bakerella.com) for the favors.

If you want recipes for anything PM me!!

Here’s pictures!

And here are the invites that I letterpressed/printed on my inkjet!

It was super fun!!  Hope my pictures help a little bit….my decor was really limited because I spent so much time on the food and everything else!  But if the food is pretty, it counts for decor, too, right?!

I was just invited to a shower (for a couple who is having twins!) and on the invitation it indicated that each guest who brought a package of diapers in addition to the gift would be entered into a drawing for a Target gift card.  I thought this was a GREAT way to stock up on an essential!

Check out hostessblog.com from Hostess with the Mostess.  They have GREAT baby shower ideas with decor, food, etc.  I saw one that was a cookie monster theme with cupcakes that looked like Cookie Monster, it was so cute!

My sister recently hosted a baby shower for me and my sweet little baby boy named Nash.  We had it after he was born, since we made it a surprise of the gender!  Anyways, she found super cute baby boy baby shower favors cheap online (I attached the link).  The ones she bought had cute personalized labels on them and they were little bags of lemonade.  They were so freaking cute and everyone loved them.  I had never seen that done before.  I looked at their site and they have the same ones available for baby girls, so this might be a good place to look!
