Stuffed mushrooms! My Fiance makes it with an apple sausage stuffing, but you can also do a seafood stuffing.

I went to a holiday cocktail party last week and they had mini crab cakes, shrimp cocktail shooters, and mini grilled cheese with tomato soup shooters. They also had hot chocolate with peppermint liquor…yum 🙂

bacon wrapped scallops, stuffed baked brie with baguette slices, crudites with dip (look on epicurious for the lemon garlic aioli. OMG so good!), bruschetta, sliders, fried ravioli with marinara dip, buffalo chicken dip with crackers and celery, 7 layer taco dip with tortilla chips or fritos…. can you tell that I like dipping stuff? LOL

freeze cranberries inside ice cubes. They look so cute and nice in drinks!

I ditto the 7 layer taco dip. It’s soo good and usually ends up being the first thing gone! lol

I love making stuffed mushrooms! They’re easy to make and easy for the guests to eat. Plus you can stuff them the day before and then just pop them in the oven. I often make sangria, with red wine during the winter and float a bunch of fruit in it so its pretty too look at. Mulled cider is a geat idea too. I also make homemeade eggnog, but its pretty strong form all the whiskey and is quite the project, but if you want the recipe I have it here on my computer. Another thing that has been super popular is I take some phyllo dough/ pastry dough in the frozen foods, then a put a big wheel of brie cheese in it & wrap it like a present)then I paint on egg wash, throw it in the oven then put it out with a bunch of different crackers & crudites, people love it! I started doing it a few years back when I saw the ad in a magazine, and its SUPER easy. And if you want to make it festive take a peice of the dough and make a bow and out it on top =)

Have fun, I love hosting holiday parties!

@KatNYC2011: I suck at cooking so I won’t be much help BUT about your avacados, I hear that if you put them in a brown paper bag they will rippen up. Good luck!

What about a veggie tray as well or cheese tray? Just need to take in account people that may not eat those types of things.

My company used to do a holiday party at a restaurant, but they always got the seafood or meat options. I was thankful for that veggie tray, as I don’t eat seafood or most meat…

So you slice your brie round horizontally. On the bottom half of the brie round pour 1/2 jar of caramel sauce and heavily sprinkle on dried apples and cranberries. Then put the top half on, and pour on the remaining 1/2 of the caramel and some more dried cranberries and apples. Bake in the oven for 20ish minutes until the brie is a bit soft and oozy. Serve with sliced baguettes. Crackers can work in a pinch. It’s so decadent and delicious.

@MissCallieJean: I LOVE your cranberries in the ice cube idea!

I also like to make a brown-sugar bacon, another super easy recipe. I put them bacon strips in little holiday glasses with pretzel sticks or homemade cheesy bread twists. The sugar/maple syrup will help make your bacon super crispy so it stands up with the bread sticks. Basically every man that comes over heads straight for these treats and they’re always the first to go =)

@KatNYC2011: my friend does a smaller version of taco dip, of meet sour cream and velveeta cheese. That is simple and alot smaller!

I’m not trying to push taco dip on you lol! I just love taco dip and after talking about it, I really want it right now! 😉
