It depends on your crowd of people. $70 is not bad at all, IMO.

I would spend that much money (and more) for just Fiance and I to go to our local pool hall/pub and play pool for a couple hours and have some drinks. I think it’s crazy that everyone is shocked at the price.

I mean clearly they don’t have to go, but it doesn’t seem like such a large amount of money that everyone would be shocked about it?

That sounds soooo fun!  I’d pay that 🙂

A bit steep for two hours of play. $140 per couple. I set up a tickets to a baseball game, BBQ buffet dinner, and pitchers at a local bar for less than $70 a person. It lasted from 1pm until midnight. Way more bang for our buck.

Ask them for suggestions on the budget and activities.

I think that’s reasonable. I might say it was too high if all the bridal party were in school or unemployed or something, but I think that’s reasonable for a joint party like that!

Or get them to chip in on hiring a bus or limo so you can bar hop. Everyone would be responsible for their own drinks and food. Request everyone chip in an additional $20 to cover the bridal couple.

You would pay more than that for one night in a hotel room!! I think that is more than reasonable.

While I don’t think it’s too expensive for what you are getting, it may still be too expensive for some people to pay.

I agree they likely spend that on a single Saturday night but in $20 increments so it doesn’t seem like it’s that much. We usually cap a night out at $50 each ($100 total.) Ask them what they expected to spend and negotiate from there. I would grunble about paying that much up front but I am a tightly budgeted and notorious cheapskate.
