Smores are a dessert and most people will eat them after dinner so as not to ruin their appetites. The cocoa can be served all night though, before dinner and after, since it is a regular beverage.

A regular coffee dispenser is fine. Milk will not clog the spout. Make sure that the cocoa is completely dissolved though. Keep in mind that some people prefer water with their cocoa, and others like milk.

@Maymers11: I would say after dinner or as coctail hour (depending on the time of your reception)

I saw a smores bar on another wedding blog- If I can remember them all lol!

-Hershey chocolate bars
-Reeses
-Godiva square bars (caramel, mint)
-cinnamon and regular graham crackers
-plain marshmallows
-cinnamon marshmallows
-strawberry marshmallows

There SO many combos! I would eat them all!!

I dont think that you will have a problem with using the coffee despensers. You could put out peppermints as stir sticks and maybe gingerbread crumbles and marshmallow to add to the hot chocolate too! Get creative!

I’m using coffee dispensers like the one in the picture for my cocoa and cider bar at my wedding and from the practice I did it shouldn’t be an issue. I agree, have the cocoa all evening possibly and smores after. I don’t know for the smores but for the cocoa I’m having whipped cream, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, peppermint, cinnamon sticks, and crushed butterscotch candies.
