My Fiance and I have been discussing what sort of favors to have. We don’t want to go the trinket route so we decided to go the edible route. I love the idea of hot chocolate favors (I drink it all year round, lol) but I am questioning whether it would be appropriate for an early November wedding.
All the sites I have been looking at seem to have it listed for a winter wedding. Another favor idea we were throwing around is some sort of kettle/caramel popcorn. Might be more “fallish” I love both ideas and my Fiance said it’s our wedding so we can give any favor we want to regardless of season. I know he is right but I just wanted to some opinions 🙂

@Brokensound21: I love hot chocolate so I’m biased

I’d stick with the hot chocolate, it goes well IMO with fall too. What’s a hay rack ride without hot chocolate, right?
Now I want some cocoa…..

Love hot chocolate favors! But kettle corn/cheesy popcorn sounds awesome too! You really can’t go wrong either way!

@Brokensound21: I’m not a big fan of caramel kettle corn. I think it tastes like Honey Smacks, which I’m not a fan of. I say go with the hot chocolate favour, I think it’s fine for your date. Popcorn doesn’t really scream fall to me any way so just go with the one you like best.

I don’t like kettle corn. But I adore hot chocolate! And November is the perfect time to start drinking it!
Its been snowing here forever though, so I’ve been drinking it constantly. Its so cold outside 🙁

I think more people would like hot chocolate in terms of what people regularly eat, and I don’t think November is too early for it. Even in summer you can just make it cold over ice! Delish!

Hot chocolate is totally appropriate for early November!

I think it is absolutely fine. You can even do a mix with some of these my personal fall favorite as well as the hot chocolate: apple cider

Thank you everyone for the replies. We are definitely leaning more towards the hot chocolate. My Fiance is now saying instead of regular mini marshmallows – he wants to use the marshmallows from Lucky Charms (his favorite cereal) He is coming up with all sorts of phrases for the favor tag. His favorite so far: “Thank you for spending this magical day with us. Here is a treat for you, it’s magically delicious.” I am on the fence with this but love that he is giving me some input lol.

@Brokensound21: thought the point of marshmelows in hot chocolate was for them to melt. I’m not sure how the lucky charms ones react to heat but they aren’t soft and I don’t think they melt. They also taste differnt then reg marshmellows. I’d def try it out before I’d give it to people.

I think both sound great!

@Atalanta: As far as I know – they don’t melt. But I told him that we can test it out, lol. I’d hate to add those and they don’t serve the purpose and we just wasted money.

I know I am late to the party here, but you could also do apple or pear cider packages. It is more fall-themed. Just look up apple cider powder. You can buy a 60-packet box (0.74 oz a packet) for $16 on amazon.

I did hot chocolate favors and I had an October wedding!
