I don’t know… do you have a thermometer? You could take his temperature & see if he has a fever. Is he eating and drinking like normal?

I’m not a vet & if you’re ever worried you should call yours… but my dog’s nose is sometimes dry & other times its slightly wet. I wouldn’t really worry about it, but if you’re concerned, it doesn’t hurt to call :).

I’m not a vet either, but I’ve read that it can be normal for a dog’s nose to cycle back and forth between cold/wet and warm/dry.  I believe that if your dog’s nose remains warm and dry for a long period of time or has scrapes or scabs on it, then they encourage you to bring him in to the vet to get checked out.  If your dog has no other symptoms, I wouldn’t be too worried about it, but if if would make you feel better to get him checked out, by all means, do so.  Your dog is lucky to have such a loving owner!! 🙂

The hot/cold nose theory is an old wives tale. There is no scientific evidence to back this up. The only accurate way to determine a pets temperature is via using a thermometer rectally.
