- Wedding: September 2012
I had my date set on May 5th, 2012. Something horrible happened now I have to change my date. Luckily my venue doesn’t charge me anything for changing the date.
It had to be later than 3rd week of July, and the problem is that it’s in NYC. Summer in NYC is crazy hot and humid. Especially the last week of July and the first week of August from what I’ve experienced so far… I didn’t want too much delay so I want to do August 4th but it just seems like a stupid move since it’s probably gonna be the hottest/most humid week of the year… (recent global warming DID bring some change in weather tho…)
Then, 3rd and 4th week of August is not a good week for my foreign guests, including my own family members, since it’s the week international students travel into the city. I myself was an international student so I know this very well…
So that’s where I got Sept 1st.
I already sent the invite out for May 5th about a month ago but now I have to print out another edition for changing the date. If I send around mid-January, it’ll be like 9months in advance and I don’t think many of our guests would have already made a plan for the labor day weekend of 2012.
90% of our guests are coming from out of town/country. A lot of them has never been to NYC. So I think more of them might want to come for holiday trip too. Or… they wouldn’t just bcuz it’s going to be a holiday trip that they want to avoid all the craziness….
Anyone here got married on laborday weekend in NYC or in the first week of August?
Oh, btw the wedding will be kind of half inside half outside.. we’ll have indoor place but it has a beautiful big terrace which I’m sure most of ppl want to be to look at the beautiful view…Also we have a photo session prior to the ceremony which will be all afternoon…. so humidity and temperature do matter.
