Hey bees,
For those of you having summer weddings, what are your groomsmen wearing? Fi and I both really like the idea of navy suits but last year on our date it was 108 degrees in the town we’re getting married in, and while that was pretty unusual hot weather in general isn’t. I don’t want our guys roasting to death but we both also want something more than just a button up and dress pants. Any suggestions?

msmeow13 : I suggest guayaberas: a linen shirt with which is very popular and considered formal attire in many Latin American countries. Mind you, a good guayabera is as expensive as a suit!

I’d go with a light weight grey suit. P.s. every second groom is getting married in navy at the moment with tan shoes!

Men in tropical countries also wear suits. They wear natural fabrics that are lightweight and breathable like linen, wool, cotton and chambray.

We got married at the start of summer (we live in Australia, so not sure how the temperatures compare to where you are). DH didn’t want to do a full suit, so he wore charcoal grey dress slacks and a matching vest with a white shirt and a bowtie. His groomsmen wore the same, just with a regular tie. DH and one his groomsmen also bought the matching jacket to the suit (so they actually have a 3-piece suit) but they didn’t wear the jackets – it was far too hot.

We did shirts, grey pants and grey vests with bowties, but no jacket.

We also did dress slacks, button down with rolled up sleeves, dress shoes and tie with a vest. No jacket.
