My finace and I are driving ourselves nuts looking for a hotel to stay in for the night before and of the wedding. This si really important not only because it will be our wedding night room, but we want the getting ready pics to be in a nice place!
We are in love with the style of the Bowery Hotel, but the rooms looks small. I have visions of getting ready photos in a larger, light filled room – and when I see the size of the rooms there it looks like there would always be at least two pieces of furniture showing in the pics no matter how you positioned yourself.
We are open to bed and breakfasts and Inns in Manhattan as well as typical hotels. We are just looking for something pretty, spacious (by NYC standards!) and somewhat affordable.
Thanks for any tips!

Are you looking for any area in particular? On the Ave, on the UWS, is supposed to be nice.
I have heard that if you’re doing getting ready pics (particularly if you have your bridal party with you), that a suite might be a better choice, because it gives you more space and you can kind of keep one room neat for pictures and have the other room contain all the chaos!

@hilsy85: Thanks for the tip – I hadn’t seen that one yet! Our ceremony is in Central Park, but we’re going down to the east village area for dinner and photos, so being close to either would be perfect… however, for the right space and price we’d be fine with anything in Manhattan.

Have you gotten a membership to Gilt Group yet? Their JetSetter sister site offers really great deals on a number of Manhattan hotels on a regular basis. Also, if you work for a larger company try checking with the hotels to see if they will offer you a corporate discount – most larger firms have those discounts for their employees.
