We just got a list from our hotel and they still have 17 rooms in our block that haven’t been booked. (The whole hotel only has ~35 rooms and we reserved them all since our wedding is over 100 guests.)
We have to release these rooms on August 9th or else be responsible for paying for them whether they fill or not.
Our RSVP deadline isn’t until August 15th.
99% of our guests are from out of town. How do I go about telling those who have RSVP’d and not booked as well as those we are still waiting for RSVPs that they only have until August 9th to get the special rate?
I can put it on the website, but I’m not sure how many people will be looking there.

I’d tell people you know are comming that your reservation expires. They have been warned adn there is not much else you can do.

How did you tell them about the block to begin with?

Word of mouth, we had to harass some people to book their rooms by the deadline. They had every intent of staying but were just terrible procrastinators. Start calling/texting/facebook messaging.

@JoJo Bananas: I put the hotel info on the website (and the website link on both the save the date and the invitation).
@LGenz: I’ve made a list for Fiance and a list for me of guests who have responded and not booked. I’m more worried about those who haven’t responded but will most likely be coming.

I was also hoping we’d fill the hotel with our guests so we could have our “after party” there and not worry about disturbing anyone who was not a part of the wedding.
