- Wedding: August 2012
We booked a Marriott hotel close by to our venue for our out of town guests to stay at. The hotel has been really great and is a very nice place. We also chose it because it is right off the highway and people can use Marriott points. We have a shuttle and everything going to the hotel to take guests from there to the venue and back.
Our invites are sent out, with all the accomodation info, and nearly 20 rooms have been booked already. I just found out over the weekend that the hotel has been sold to the Sheraton, and will be changing hands 2 days before our event. Uhm seriously? I talked to my coordinator there and she said the hotel will look the same and the majority of the staff will be the same and that our pricing will be honored. But I can’t help but feel nervous that this is going to create mass chaos.
I will contact the bus company and let them know as well as the guests staying at the hotel as the sign out front will likely be changed. I’m just really frustrated, with the wedding a month away this is something I really don’t need!
Has this happened to any of you? Did it create issues?
