@FutureMrsMcLaughin:  I’ve been to the hotel but haven’t stayed over night. It’s gorgeous and San Diego is an awesome mini-moon destination.

How exciting! I used to work across the street from Hotel del Coronado and would take an afternoon break every day to walk on the beach; their beach is one of my favorite beaches in San Diego. The sundeck is an amazing place to catch the sunset and relax. My favorite nearby restaurants are Miguel’s (Mexican), Sawadee (Thai), and Leroy’s (American). There are a bunch of cute shops and candy shops all down Orange Ave. I would definitely recommend renting a beach cruiser (Holland’s Bicycles does rentals) and riding south down the Silver Strand and stopping at the little beaches along the bay.

I’ve never actually spend the night at the hotel, but I’ve been inside plenty, and it’s a special place to be! Let me know if I can answer any Coronado / San Diego questions for you!

I grew up there and my parents still live there, so I’m biased but I say yes 🙂 It’s a little pricier but it’s so beautiful. Nearly everything in Coronado is walking distance so it’s a great little vacation spot. It gets heavily, heavily busy and tourist-y though if you’re going in a peak time.

@FutureMrsMcLaughin:  Those days of the week should probably be better than a weekend, but since it’s Summer it will definitely still be busy. Don’t let that deter you though! It may be busy, but it’s well worth it.
