(Closed) Hotel room(s) for getting ready? Please help! (LONG)

  • poll: Hotel rooms?

1 large room - everyone will fit and it's cheaper!

2 smaller rooms - everyone will fit and it's worth the extra cost!

1 of each - everyone will fit and it's worth the extra cost!

None of these sound appealing to me, I've got another suggestion I'll leave in the comments!

i splurged on an extra hotel room for us to get ready in separate from the guys and it was SO worth it!! it was our time to gossip, laugh, jam out, get over our hangovers, hang out less-than-modestly dressed, order food, pop champagne, basically have our own thing until we went to the venue

I would definitely have two rooms, regardless of the sizes you choose. I think keeping your party and his party separate is more organized and you will most likely have half-clothed ladies roaming around your room trying to get ready. They may not feel comfortable with the men in the same suite. Also, guys’ getting ready ritual is vastly different from girls’. Usually groomsmen are relaxing, have a few drinks, maybe watching a game, all while hanging out and sometimes being loud. This is great for them and the groom, but I personally would be stressed out sharing a space with them!

While you definitely don’t owe your party a free hotel room, it is nice for them to have a permanent place to store their items during the reception and keep your room PRIVATE for your wedding night. Let your girls know loud and clear ahead of time that they will need to clear everything from the room and ask housekeeping to clean the room when you girls leave for the wedding so it is nice for your return.

If the budget allows I would get the bigger room for you girls. You won’t regret it and a $150 difference would be worth a little extra room!

I would get the larger room and a small room… I would also see if someone in the bridal party was interested in using it the night of the wedding and was willing to chip in for that night.

ElephantAndTheFlea :  It was a basic small-ass hotel room with 2 full beds, I had 4 bridesmaids + my mom and we had more than enough room I felt.

ElephantAndTheFlea :  I almost forgot, sometimes you can get the extra room for free as a “hospitality suite”. Ask the hotel if you can get a discuount for needing a room just for a few hours

ElephantAndTheFlea :  yes, see if they’d like to chip in. If no one wants to chip in (with the realistic expectation that some of them will crash there anyway) I would take the larger room for me and Fiance… Maybe I’m selfish, but if you’re paying for it and it is your wedding night, take the special room for yourself!
