I am only paying for wedding party hotel rooms.

We didn’t, it was outside of our budget.

No one from out of town expects you to pay for their accommodation.

The bride and groom do not have to take on the responsibility of everyone’s travel, accomodation, transportation etc for the whole time they are in town.

The invitations are  for the wedding- the ceremony and reception. These people are adults and can make their own plans for everything else.

No, you don’t pay. But you can/should set up a “courtesy hotel block” which reserves rooms for your guests at a set rate. They can then call and make their reservations in your block. Usually the rate is better than they could otherwise get.
