We stayed at the Ritz on vacation.  It was great and half the price of four seasons.  Morning breakfast buffet was delicious.

I loooove the Ritz. Probably because I had a summer internship there in high school. (Not Maui, but it’s what made us pick The Ritz when we DID go to Hawaii) haha.

FOUR SEASONS!!! It’s soooo beautiful and peaceful. Wailea is such a romantic little spot. (We stayed at the Grand Wailea but we had drinks and dinner over at the Four Seasons a couple of times.)

It’s further away from other touristy areas but I feel like you pretty much need to rent a car wherever you stay. Especially if you’re planning on driving the road to Hana, etc.

@Ms. Sparkles: Though I’ve heard the best luau in Maui is the one in Lahaina, we did the one at the Grand Wailea for the same reason.

It was really fun!!  The view is incredible.  The food was delicious and the entertainment was good too.

What about the Grand Wailea? I’ve heard its better than both of those.. thats where we’re staying in Hawaii next year.

We stayed at the Ritz on our honeymoon in June. Loved it!! In spring the weather on that side of the island is great. We maybe had one quick rain shower the whole time. We went and visited the Four Seasons and of course it was super nice but honestly, I thought the physical layout and the property of the Ritz was far more romantic. The beach where the Four Seasons is located was packed. The pool at the Ritz was just amazing! I’m not knocking the Four Seasons at all. If we go back, we would love to stay there but for a honeymoon it just wasn’t my cup of tea. I say go for the Ritz hands down.

I’ve stayed at the Ritz and at the Grand Wailea, which is in the same area as the Four Seasons. Honestly, I think there’s more to do in the Wailea/Kihei area and that the Kapalua resort is a bit isolated, so I’d go with the Four Seasons. I personally don’t find Kaanapali all that exciting and Wailea not a bad drive to Lahaina in my opinion.

Have you looked at the Fairmont Kea Lani (near the Four Seasons)? I found it more adult oriented and had less kids and families than the Grand Wailea, which may be preferable for a honeymoon Laughing

Definitely the Four Seasons! Take a cab to the luau.
