I’ve been to so many weddings where I just throw out the favors the next time I change apartments, so I was totally tempted to just forgo them for my own wedding. But it feels weird to have guests go empty handed. So, I was wondering…
My venue is at a car museum – old cars, new cars, presidential cars, etc. I was thinking of having name cards held up by a little hotwheel toy race car for each guest. Would you feel jipped if you got a toy race car as a wedding favor?

I think its a fun and unique idea! However, you have to be prepared that only some guests will keep and display them and some will just think that it make no use to them. If this is the idea that you would go for in the end, and if the toy vehicle allow, maybe you could add some mints/chocolates/candies in/on the car to go as favor as well?? Just a thought.

@brazilianbridezilla: great idea! I’ll definitely try to think of a way to spruce them up a bit with candy or something. Thanks!!

@rosewater7: i wouldn’t feel jipped. lol i’m a teacher, so i’d probably keep it and use it in the play area of my classroom. 🙂

I’d think it was cute and put it in my drawer of random keepsake type stuff.

I think you have a great idea! It ties perfectly to your venue and it’s fun and whimsical.
I have also seen foil wrapped chocolate racecars that might be an option for candy with your theme but to be honest I love the idea of the hotwheels!

It IS cute, and it goes with your theme… but what are adults going to do with a hotwheel? Unless I had kids I’d honestly chuck it (and feel guilty).
If you want to do car themed, I agree with a PP to make it edible! You can also get custom shaped cookies

I like it, and I would keep them, but I can see alot of people throwing them away or leaving behind.

i think it is a great idea. I can see where people might toss them out, but who doesn’t know at least 1 kid they can give it to. In the worst case scenario you get left with a bunch of matchbox cars or the flower girl or ring barrier make off with them.

We have thought about this. Since we both love NASCAR and there is a race the day of our wedding, we will have it going on a tv in the reception room for those interested (which would be most).
However the cars that we want are $5 each, because we wanted actual NASCAR driver cars. We are instead going to go with the chocolate cars that are wrapped to look like the NASCAR cars.
