DanniBee83:  1. I wash my Darling Husband clothes like 99% of the time. He washes his own and once in a great great while mine if I’ve been working a lot of crazy hours and he doesn’t have anything to wear.

2. We usually share the cooking like if we’re having BBQ chicken, he’ll grill the chicken while I make the sides, If we’re home together, which only happens a couple days a week. ๐Ÿ™ Every once in a while he’ll cook the entire meal like if I don’t get out of work until late so it will be ready for me when I get home and I’ll do the same for him.

3. I do 99% of the house cleaning. Every once in a great while he’ll do the dishes if I haven’t had time in a few days because of my work schedule and he’ll clean the shower and toilet every once in a great while too. I do the inside of the house and he does the outside like cutting the grass, shoveling, and fixing stuff.

4. I have a full time job and work 40 hrs a week. I don’t have a set schedule so I work all different times. A couple of days a week I work early and the other few I get out late.

5. My Darling Husband has a full time job as well and works at least 40 hrs a week sometimes more. He does have a set schedule and works late usually 3 days a week.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

We both start the washer and dryer but I tend to fold them. If I don’t, he leaves them on the floor in a pile, lol. It’s weird – but he’s done that since before I met him. He says, ‘it’s just going to come back out of the drawer again!’ So, I turn on a show on my computer and do the folding. ๐Ÿ™‚

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

I do the bulk of the cooking, unless we make Persian food. Then he cooks it (and it takes a good 3 hours or more to make.) The meals I do take less time and are either crock-pot or less than 30 minute meals. He is very good about helping put dishes in the dishwasher, etc since I do most of the cooking.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

I do the bulk of the day-to-day cleaning whereas he does the big projects. For instance, he just finished painting our study, which is becoming my crafting room! He’s also working on organizing the garage and updating the fence in our yard. If we ever finish the projects, we’ll revisit this solution. (I will also say, he’s very neat, so the bulk of the tidying in the house that I do is because of my mess! ๐Ÿ™‚ )

4. Do you work full-time?

I work full-time, but we’ve talked about me finding something in the future that is only 3 or 4 days a week to free up some more time during the day for the bigger chores as well as work on my crafting. (I’d love to start an etsy store sometime.)

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

Yes, he does.

Not quite married, but living together, so the answers won’t change after marriage ๐Ÿ™‚

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? He puts his and mine in the washer and in the dryer, then I’m in charge of folding and hanging.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? We have a housekeeper who comes biweekly; I’m the one who usually cleans up in between her visits though.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes – he puts in more hours than I do though.

DanniBee83:

  1. We definitely do our own laundry!  I’ve been doing my own laundry since 6th grade because I don’t like people touching my stuff, and he has to do his own loads because he never takes pens out of his pockets and after several attempts to double check his pockets and do our clothes together, I’ve ended up with ruined clothes.  He can ruin his own stupid clothes.
  2. I cook desserts, I love to bake.  I’ll cook dinner maybe once a month.  We make a lot of our own food.
  3. I do all the cleaning.
  4. I do not work, just volunteer a lot.  I do a lot of needle beading and sell it, and blog.
  5. Darling Husband works full time

1. We both do the washing, just as and when it needs doing. Our clothes aren’t sorted by who they belong to though.

2. We take turns, I do it one week, he does it the next.

3. He cleans upstairs, I do downstairs.

4/5. We both work full time.

1. Both of us wash our own and each other’s/ Honestly though, he does more laundry than I do.

2. I’m the one who does most of the cooking, mostly because he works more and I have more time usually

3. We share! We both dislike it, but it needs to be done, so we divide it equally without even thinking about it usually

4-5. We both have part time jobs, usually from 22-25 hours a week…during the summer we tend to work more like 30-35. And we volunteer 15-20 hours a week typically.

1. He usually does the laundry.

2. I do about 65-70% of the cooking because I enjoy it. If I don’t want to, he will happily cook.

3. We share. He is responsible for the kitchen and toilet, I do the rest of the house.

4. I’m a full time student in Finland which pays the bills and on average means 4-8 hour days 5 days a week

5. My husband is a full time student as well.

We developed this way of doing things a long time ago and it has worked for us so we continue to do it. One day once we have children and/or our careers begin we may need to adjust but until then this is probably how it will stay.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

– Depends who’s in the mood and time; however, he doesn’t fold/dry my clothes as he said he is not sure how I store them/handle my clothes

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

– We live with mother in law, and she does most of the cooknig. Darling Husband usually cook on the weekend.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

– We both do. Again, depends on how tired we are.  In general, he does more on the detail stuff (like clean the vaccum filter etc.) I clean the kitchen and wash the dishes.

4. Do you work full-time?

 – Yes.

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

– Yes

Not getting married until next month, but we’ve been living together for the past year and a half and own a house together so here goes:

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? Everything gets washed together. He’s good about loading the washer/dryer, but unless I fold and hang the clothes we end up living out of laundry baskets.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? I cook most of the time. Our deal is that I cook and he does the dishes, sometimes. ๐Ÿ™‚

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? We both clean, me moreso than him because he just doesn’t notice when things are dirty. If I give him a list, though, he’ll do it.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes

Not married yet, but we have been living together for over 2 years so thought I would chime in!

1. I do all the laundry. He only does it if I am not around and he needs clothes asap haha

2. I do all the shopping and planning, so I mostly do all the cooking. Sometimes if I am really tired I will just ask him. But I make better, healthier meals so I prefer it

3. I do most of the cleaning, if its the weekend he will help out if I give him specific jobs

4. Yes

5. Yes

DanniBee83:

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?  Our laundry is all in the same hamper, so whoever happens to do the laundry does both.  We don’t have a specific routine for doing the laundry – I think it’s about 50/50?  Maybe he does it a little more often, but I always do a more thourough job!  Ha ha!  That’s our dynamic – he’s quick, I’m thourough.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?  I am the primary cook and do a fair bit of home cooking.  I do all the meal planning.  We often grocery shop together, or whoever has time will go.  He certainly enjoys grocery shopping more than I do.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?  He is the primary cleaner, although I of course pitch in too.   He is much faster at this than me and can typically have the whole appartment clean in the time that it takes for me to work on just one small area!  It’s amazing.  This also tends to bother him a little more than me, so first thing Saturday he likes to get up and get the place clean so he can enjoy the rest of the weekend.  What a guy, right?  I try to stay and help, but he’s actually pretty happy for me to go for my workout while he does this.  <3 him.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes.  I spend a bit more time at work b/c of my commute and his compressed work schedule, but it’s pretty equal.  He makes a little more money than me, but it’s not a huge gap.

Darling Husband is a pretty great partner on this stuff.  He likes the arrangement where I cook and he cleans and so do I.  I love too cook, so it’s a really great deal for me.  We don’t have a stict agreement, but we each sort of take care of the items we enjoy/care about more.  He also does all the bike maintenance and washes the car, which is a huge plus for me!
